The Meade 5000 Series Enhanced Diagonal 2" is a large format 2"-fitting star diagonal, for use with Refractors and Catadioptric Telescopes (Schmidt Cassegrains, Ritchey Chrétien and Maksutovs) with 2" eyepiece holders.

The mirror in this diagonal is dielectrically coated with a super-reflective coating which transmits up to 99% of the visible wavelegths of light, making for superbly bright images with inperceiveable loss of brightness. The mirror itself is made from extremely low expansion pyrex glass, which helps to minimise any possible distortions caused by temperature change. Every mirror is factory tested with an Interferometer to ensure superb uniform performance from batch to batch.

The chassis of the Meade 5000 Series Enhanced Diagonal is an all metal construction, heavily annodised in a glossy black coating.

This diagonal also features a 2" to 1.25" step-down ring with internal thumbscrew operated brass compression rings to prevent marking of eyepieces and accessories.

Please note, this diagonal does not come with an SCT to 2" adapter, those requiring this fitting should order the Meade SCT Thread To 2" Adapter (07085).
