Quick Overview

The Lunt LS6CaKMDd2 Ca-K filter in 90° star diagonal is a Calcium-K module, designed for use with well-built Refracting telescopes, of up to 100mm aperture and up to 540mm focal length - turning them into fully capable Solar instruments. This system has Lunt's B600 width blocking filter and is for telescopes with 2" focusers. The Lunt LS6CaKMDd2 Ca-K accepts 1.25" eyepieces and imagers and also has a male T-2 connection for DSLR imaging.

This Calcium-K module transforms your normal astronomical telescope into a Ca-K solar telescope. It's very simple to fit: put the Ca-K module into the 2" focuser of your refracting telescope, fit a 1.25" eyepiece or imager (either via 1.25" nosepiece or T-2 connection) and you'll be ready for solar observing in the Calcium-K wavelength.

Internal narrowband filters allow for a <2.4 Angstrom bandwidth. The Ca-K wavelength is at the edge of the visible light spectrum for human eyes, so for many people visual observing is challenging at this wavelenght. However, significant details can be captured photographically. Therefore, we recommend the Ca-K Module is primarily for imaging purposes.

This module is recommended for telescopes up to 100mm aperture and up to 540mm focal length.

The Ca-K module is in a straight extension tube, for fitting in 2" focusers on the telescope side and comes with T2 connection and for 1.25" eyepieces on the eyepiece side.
