Herstmonceux 2012 For the eighth year running, Telescope House was proud to sponsor the Observatory Science Centre Festival of Astronomy. For 2012, we were pleased to have the presence of Gary Palmer, one of the world's leading Solar Imagers in the Telescope House tent, demonstrating the Coronado Solar Max 90 and showing off his amazing images. Gary also lectured at the festival while the Telescope House team demonstrated the new Meade LX80 dual mount, the new Revelation M-LRN and Ritchey Chretien scopes, plus the fantastic new Meade Series 6000 Refractors and much, much more.
Telescope House's Steve and Kerin hosted the now infamous Festival of Astronomy Pub Quiz on the Saturday evening and despite the lack of questions on Tycho Brahe, a good time was had by all. The weather held throughout the weekend and we treated attendees to some cracking views of Venus and Jupiter in daylight and despite the appearance of the Moon after midnight, we got in some great night-time observing sessions, with both the Meade 16-inch LX200 in C Dome and other instruments.
Many thanks are extended to Sandra and her wonderful staff, who always make us feel so welcome - we'll be back next year!
